Re: Recommended practice for setting exitlevel

Hi, thanks for the response but I fell into the trap of the most basic test... Let's say we have a test.ps1 sitting in c:\temp and the only line in the script is; $script:ExitCode=1 Then I run up a CMD window and run powershell then; c:\temp\test.ps1 $lastexitcode I would expect to see $lastexitcode...

Recommended practice for setting exitlevel

Product: PowerShell Studio 2019 (64 Bit) Build: v5.6.165 OS: Windows 10 Enterprise (64 Bit) Build: v10.0.18362.0 Hi, I think I have been down this road before. Just after some assurance on what is the best practice for setting an exit level when exiting from a packaged console executable. If I packa...

Re: Error object blocks with open brace on newline

David, No problem and understand what you are saying. Yes, syntax wise, it's fine, but if your intention is to have a non blocking script to run that does not require user input then this unexpected behavior can be very frustrating. Maybe if I try a new approach, rather than PSS reporting this as an...

Re: Error object blocks with open brace on newline

Product: PowerShell Studio 2019 (64 Bit) Build: v5.6.165 OS: Windows 10 Enterprise (64 Bit) Build: v10.0.17763.0 Hi David, That would have been amazing (and coincidental) had it resolved the issue, but it did not. I pasted this into a new script and run through the PSS editor and it raised the smdle...

Error object blocks with open brace on newline

Product: PowerShell Studio 2019 (64 Bit) Build: v5.6.160 OS: Windows 10 Enterprise (64 Bit) Build: v10.0.17763.0 Hi guys, A slightly annoying issue with powershell is that it does not recognize the object script blocks with an open brace on a newline. I am in the habit (rightly or wrongly) of placin...

Re: Find\Replace capitalizing

Ahhhh, of course...but what is even stranger it's not an exact match. I looked through the history and what I found was '$Instance' not 'Instance', so yes a wee bit aggressive. Perhaps including a facility that allows you to purge the history content may be useful?
