Quick general tip: Always run Help for the cmdlet you're using, and give it the -full parameter for full help. You'll find tons of useful little things hidden away in there!

I know I don't. Perf Alerts are pretty much specific to the system monitor application, and it's not really set up to be scriptable.

I once tried writing a VBScript that continually monitored a perf counter via WMI, and then sent alerts to me, but the performance and overhead were horrible.

We've had a number of instances where "bots" were attempting to log in using known usernames and random passwords. We feel it is necessary to help prevent this type of abuse.
