Re: multiple executable in an msi package not installed in menu and & to execute

I did set-location c:\program files (x86) ... I found that if I launch my app like & $(".\app.exe") it works perfectly! If I add the full path before it, it does not work. I guess and correct me if I am wrong, if i default the location to the app path, i should be able to get away with .\app.exe. It...

Re: multiple executable in an msi package not installed in menu and & to execute

Any thought about why my & would not work after being packaged and installed in c:\program files (x86) with running my videos or executables? Is there a better way to execute these actions? This did work for me prior to creating a package.

thanks,
John

multiple executable in an msi package not installed in menu and & to execute

In my msi package that I am creating I want 3 executables from 3 different apps. Only one shows up in the windows program menu. I am wondering if there is a way to correct or adjust this? I thought that it would just add each executable as an additional menu item for the same program since it is par...

Re: struggling with the msi installer

One thing I noticed is that if the program is installed already and I attempt to install it again without uninstalling it i get an error message: The application requires PowerShell V5. Please install WinRM 5.0, then run this installer again. The program installs fine if it is uninstalled. However i...

Re: struggling with the msi installer

I read that older document from 2013 and it cleared up my understanding of the msi packaging. It works nicely. I am just left with my first question about adding non-packaged files to the .msi package. I’d like the end user to access these files outside of the packaged app. If I can resolve this I h...

struggling with the msi installer

I am using powershell studio 2019. I had limited success using the powershell msi installer. First off I was surprised I can only include a packaged .exe in the file list. What if I have other files that I want to include? The output folder was perplexing. It appears that this is where the .msi pack...

Is powershell studio able to build an app to meet the requirements for the microsoft store

Before I become a developer on microsoft's store I want to find out if powershell studio can build an app that meets the microsoft store requirements. This includes the package manifest, how the app is packaged etc. I understand that microsoft's visual studio is able to meet these requirements. Yet ...

Re: Considering a code signing certificate for my application

I am also considering a godaddy ev cert for code signing. I believe those are $199.99 a year. Please give me your thoughts as well.

Thanks,
John
