PS Crashes

Post by djlurch »

Just download the latest release today (637). PS has locked up 3 times in the 2 hours that I've used it.

1) Downloading FTP file
2) Unknown (probably background FTP refresh)
3) Unknown (probably background FTP refresh)

In cases 2 and 3 the "This program is failing to respond" type message comes up and I am given the option to force close.

In case 1 (going on right now) the W7 circle is just spinning and PS is faded out. It's been doing this for 10 minutes.uploads/15069/alex.jpg

PS Crashes

Nothing has changed in regards to FTP transfers.
That screenshot really doesn't provide any information.
Direct FTP editing really relies on constant and uninterupted connectivity. If that is not the case symptoms like this can occur.
Which is exactly why best practices recommend local editing and ftp publishing. As you recall, we have discussed this.

PS Crashes

1) I tested (and use) at least half a dozen other code editors on the PC and Mac. All of their FTP components work flawlessly. PrimalScript is the only one that I have had any problems with.2) The issue is not with my PC. I've tested it on several of my computers and the behavior is similar.3) Editing a testing site via FTP is extremely common in the web development community.Based on the poor FTP performance, the undo issue, the line ending issue, and the way I have been treated on several occassions, I have moved on to another code editor. I had to give up some very nice PS workflow features, but I am quite happy with the other product. Good luck with everything and thanks for the support over the years.
