I don't saved the password for 'sa' in the connection properties (because this is not recommend), so should not the database browser ask for the PW on opening the connection?

Yes it should prompt. I'll look into what could keep it from doing that. Can you run a test with stored credential just to make sure that is the actual problem?

With the stored credentials it works, also with "integrated windows security".
