SQLPS Module Commands in Object Browser not displaying

Post by timstspry17 »

Product, version and build: PowerShell Studio 2016 build 5.2.121
32 or 64 bit version of product: 64-bit
Operating system: Windows 10
32 or 64 bit OS: 64-bit
PowerShell Version: V5

DO NOT POST SUBSCRIPTIONS, KEYS OR ANY OTHER LICENSING INFORMATION IN THIS FORUM

I have seen numerous posts regarding this issue and installed the latest release just a few minutes ago. When I try to view the cmdlets beneath the SQLPS module, nothing is displayed.

I appreciate any help provided!

There is a possibility that the caching process failed to query the cmdlets.

Please to go to the following folder and zip any file with the SQLPS module name and attach it to this topic:

C:\ProgramData\SAPIEN\PresetCache 2016\ModuleCacheV5

Also zip and attach the contents of the following folder:

C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\SAPIEN\CachedData 2016\Local Machine

Thank you,

The SQLPS module is reporting that it has no cmdlets. Note: If this is a DSC resource module, it will not have any cmdlets listed.

Can you provide a link to download the module?

Hi David, I am not sure what link you are speaking of? This is not a DSC machine, I have this issue on my laptop and a desktop that has my 2nd license on it. I have attached a screen print of an error message that is displayed when I right click on the SQLPS module and slect refresh help from the pop-up.

Good morning David, I have some additional information for you. I'm not sure if this helps or not, but I have a personal license for PowerShell Studio 2016 and a work license. On my work laptop, the SQLPS modules show the cmdlets correctly. However, I believe that the difference between my personal copy installed on my personal laptop which the SQLPS cmdlets do not show and my work laptop is that I have the SQL Server 2012 Feature Pack installed on my work laptop, but I probably don't have that installed on my personal laptop.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the information. The update help tool is only querying PowerShell for the cmdlet help information. It seems that a dependence is missing, which might be the SQL Server 2012 Feature Pack you spoke of.
