It is quite possible that the threading model of this component is not compatible with Windows Form.
If for example you call this during an event and the control issues an event itself and waits for it, you get a deadlock situation.
Without knowing anything about the module that is not possible for us to determine. You can of course contact whoever authored the module to learn more.
As a work around I would suggest to launch the script you use in a job and use a jobtracker to determine when the task is finished.
