Nested regions support?

Post by OldLost »

As near as I can tell the parser for code folding does not understand nesting #region...#endregion blocks. Is that correct? If so, any intentions to support such a feature? If they are supported, however, I'll need to reexamine my code I think.

PowerShell Studio 2015 4.2.95 64bit, Windows Server 2012 R2 64bit

PowerShell Studio does collapse #regions that are nested individually.

Can you provide an example of what you are doing and what you expect to happen?

I normally don't nest regions or put regions inside functions, but sometimes I get a function or something from someone else and end up pasting it into my own code. One recent example is I used a function from someone else which did have regions within it and when PSS reformatted the code it didn't end up indented right at the end, but it's entirely possible I didn't look closely enough and there was not enough "#endregion" lines to match all the "#region" lines, and falsely assumed it was PSS not supporting nested regions.

I'll try it again, and if I do find an example of it not working I'll follow up here. Thanks.

If you can reliably reproduce this, then we can take a look at it. Note that there can be a delay before the regions become collapsible.
