Check in another user's check out

Post by cothomas »

I have someone that checked out a file, then went on vacation. How do I check the file back in?1. I am running in Extended security mode2. I am logging in with my account which has Admin rights3. The other user only has user rightsIf I try to check it in, I get an error saying it's already checked out.If I try to undo the check out, it says it's already checked out.

It should prompt. Try to check it out to yourself and see if you get a prompt to undo the other users check-out.If that doesn't work, please let us know.

Hmm, in the options, check "Enable breaking previous file checkouts".It SHOULD only affect simple mode but lets try that nonetheless. If that deosn't work I will forward it to the team to fix ASAP.

Checked "Enable breaking previous file checkouts", restarted ChangeVue, and I still cannot check it out. Also, I noticed that the Help button doesn't do anything.

Ok, I will set up a test case and hand it to the team. They should have an answer by tomorrow.

Go to settings. Disable the user in question. Now you can undo the checkout for the user. You can re-enable the user afterwards.A prompt to do this without disabling a user will be added in the next service build.

Ok. My next question is: Will this ability be for all users or only admins?

Only admins. From what I hear it was decided that if an admin does an undo checkout it will just perform it regardless of the original user.
