PowerShell Studio errors during Windows 8 install

Post by StupidSexyFlanders »

Trying to install PSS on Windows 8 Enterprise and getting two errors. The first error as soon as the 'Verifying Prereq...' phase completes. It says:
"Warning 4145. MSChart....was not correctly installed" and gives me the option to continue (which I do). The second error comes up during the 'Registering modules' phase and says :
"Module C:Program Files (x86)SAPIEN Tec.....{rest of path}...HelpCOMWrapper.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147010895. Contact your support personnel". I am given the 'Abort,Retry,Ignore' options. I click ignore and the installation finishes with no further errors.

I 'unblocked' the installation file and launched it 'as Administrator'.

I get no errors which I launch PSS, but I don't know if the install error indicate I will have problems later.

PowerShell Studio errors during Windows 8 install

Did you uninstall and reinstall as Administrator?

The HelpComWrapper could fail if the MFC redistributables are not installed correctly or missing. It also can fail to register if it doesn’t have the rights. This component is tied the cmdlet help system in PowerShell Studio.

The MSCharts can fail if .NET 3.5 is not installed. This prerequisite is not necessary and only provides support for Chart Controls in the designer.
