I found a problem with highlighted references colors in dark mode. The background color changes, but not the foreground. Whatever color I choose it seems to only slightly change the 'grayness' of the text, not the color.
Also can't set BOLD, but italics works.
It's worse in light (non-dark) mode. Unreadable:

Re: Highlighted reference colors issue
Since it is a "highlight" setting, only the background color selected is applied. The font color remains at whatever syntax coloring dictates for the highlighted word otherwise. The same is true for "Text Selection", "Selection Margin" and "Line Highlight"
We will endeavor to make the selection dialog reflect situations where only background or foreground are applicable.

Re: Highlighted reference colors issue
Alexander, i'm not sure I understand. Are you saying that with the background set to black, in dark mode I should see no difference? The font color should not change? That's not what I'm seeing. No matter what I click on - click, not select - the font color changes to a white/gray. Statement, local variable, global variable, etc. all get the same color.
Thanks,
Gerry

Re: Highlighted reference colors issue
You shouldn't be able to change the font color on these settings. If you do, it may have unexpected results.
I will investigate.
