Re: Primal Script intermittently corrupts files during transfer

Thank you. We will test out this new version and let you know.

Also - I apologize, this is happening with both 2024 & 2025 versions.
We have 4 PC's that have PrimalScript and all 4 are experiencing this issue.
We use source control, so only one person can be making changes to the source code.

When we choose to download the file ... some files work just fine, some are corrupt. One file causes PrimalScript to crash. See screen shots.

So, no one has the file open on the server while we are uploading/downloading.

Some staff do use DreamWeaver to edit files - but we always use PrimalScript to upload. Also, on rare occasions it is possible that some files are edited with NotePad.

I opened one file in PrimalScript in binary and searched for where the corrupt file started and did not see anything that stood out.

I am checking with our network IT guys on your question below and will get back to you:
Is it at all possible that some other process is potentially opening, modifying or saving that file while it is being transferred? This can be an autosave, even in PrimalScript,
some backup tool, version control, someone else editing that file if it is on a server or network location. Anything.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Is it always the same file that causes the crash? If so, can you please upload that one?

So far yes - the same file I download. Now it only crashes if the file does not exist on my PC. If it exists, it downloads - but is corrupt. Then I remove it and download again, PrimalScript closes.

I changed the file extension from .php to .txt ... it will not upload here as an attachment ... getting this message.
Error
HTTP error.
If you are attempting to upload an image, please be sure to remove any EXIF / meta data from the image and try again.
The file is 44KB in size.

"Now it only crashes if the file does not exist on my PC."
Is this a change now with the new build or does just so happend to have changed now?
Are you not getting any output in the Tool Output panel at all?

Also, please go here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\14.0\VC\Runtimes\X64
and let me know what the value of "Version" is and if it is consistent on all machines.

We normally do not download to our PC's from the FTP server.

Yes - we are getting output like ...
Upload of C:\Source Control\php_kscle\current_development\index.php complete. 44514 bytes transfered to /index.php.
Download of /offline.php complete. 3453 bytes transfered to C:\Source Control\php_kscle\current_development\offline.php.

I was able to get the download to close primalscript on multiple different files trying to download to my PC.
The file(s) actually gets downloaded - but primalscript closes.

Thank you for the additional information.
I assume if the indicated size would not correlate to the actual file sizes, you would have said so.
If the reported sizes are correct, do the files still get corrupted down to 1K ?

It seems that we can upload files of 1K or less with no issues.
Downloading the same 1K file causes PrimalScript to abort and close.
