Bypassing scheduled task creation during install

Post by larrybtagao »

Product, version and build: Powershell Studio 5.8.202
Operating system: Windows Server 2019
PowerShell version(s): 5.1

This is not really an issue per se but I was wondering if there's a way to "bypass" the creation of a scheduled task in Windows Task Scheduler during the installation of PS Studio, as this will get picked up by our monitoring tool which will then send out an alert to everyone. Found this out when i tried installing it on a test server to see what kind of alert it will trigger when we proceed to install it on a prod management server.

TIA.

I am not aware of any scheduled tasks created by our installer. Which specific task do you see created?

It does seem to create one and removes it immediately after installation. This is picked up by our monitoring tool.

That is not from us. That must be part of your internal process or Citrix. We are not doing that.
On an actual Windows machine no such thing happens.
