`Formatting` Placement of closing braces

Bosparan, Oct. 12, 2018Released:

Hello,

there is one thing that has kept me from using and enjoying automatically inserted curly braces. I really appreciate the way they work in Visual Studio but the PSS version has me irked. In the following examples, '|' always represents the cursor.

What currently happens:

foreach ($foo in $bar)
{|}

If I hit enter here, I will end up with this:

foreach ($foo in $bar)
{
|}

Which means I first have to add another line, move the cursor up and get to the right location in my indentation.

How I would like it to behave:

foreach ($foo in $bar)
{|}

If I hit enter here, I will end up with this:

foreach ($foo in $bar)
{
      |
}

That way I could just seamlessly keep coding and wouldn't have to care about formatting.

While this may sound ... trivial, it really would make a major difference for my coding experience. Lot's of braces in a script of mine ...

Cheers,
Fred
